1. Presentation of the Jumbo solution for large bearings and slewing rings

The PEROBAT JUMBO seals for slewing rings or large bearings are designed to operate on tracks with slow rotating or oscillating movements and must be able to accommodate eccentricity or cross-section variations, which are often significant, linked to the movement of parts relative to each other.

In terms of sealing, these joints are intended to operate at low pressure or even in the absence of pressure.

- Bearing seals for offshore platforms

PXL SEALS solutions have been used for many years to seal the large bearings of offshore oil platforms: in particular, we provide seals intended for SWIVELS on FPSO vessels (Floating Production Storage and Offloading units).

Our very large diameter products without junctions guarantee perfect sealing without risk of failure at the joint over the years. Our seals offer ideal long-term use for this type of highly strategic application.

Depending on the type of bearing encountered and its operating characteristics (notably the presence of large clearances and eccentricity in use), it may be necessary to move towards different profiles.

For example, installing two Jumbo seals in series can ensure face sealing in a rotary system subject to sagging over time, requiring the presence of significant extrusion clearances at the sealing level. Given these constraints, Jumbo seals are selected because of their very large deformation capacity and their ability to accept significant section variations.

In other cases, a Jumbo seal is preferred to accommodate the eccentricity of the parts relative to each other. A V-Ring positioned upstream of the Jumbo acts as a barrier to impurities, performing a wiper function.

- Bearing seals for wind energy

PXL SEALS solutions are particularly suitable for sealing large slewing ring bearings located at the top of wind turbines. Indeed, we supply monobloc seals that avoid the need for profile bonding, thereby optimizing the service life of the seals.

PXL SEALS supports major players in public works by providing high-performance sealing systems for the most demanding environments. Our solutions equip numerous types of machinery, including tunnel boring machines (TBM), cranes, and lifting equipment.

Tunnel boring machines and equipment dedicated to the construction industry operate in particularly harsh environments. Under these conditions, ensuring the tightness of components such as slewing rings and large bearings is essential to preserve their performance and extend their lifespan.

To meet the needs of these applications, we notably offer our JUMBO seals, a solution dedicated to large dimension sealing (often exceeding 3 or 4 meters). Designed specifically for slow rotary movements and low pressure, our profiles ensure optimal protection of internal lubrication.

These seals are offered to the exact dimensions of the housings, molded as a single piece (monobloc) and therefore without the need for junctions: this guarantees perfect material homogeneity and high reliability over time.

For greater rigidity and retention in the housing, PXL SEALS offers the Perobat Jumbo seal with a fabric- reinforced heel.

The textile-reinforced heel provides excellent support for the seal in its groove, preventing it from rotating due to shaft drive.

It also ensures static sealing by axial compression, remaining effective even on degraded surfaces on the outer diameter.

It is also possible to mould very large diameters (> 3–4 ml)

3. Slewing ring seals for the naval sector
